The Shai Sconce, part of our Gami Collection, is inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding. The practice often involves folding a single sheet of paper into various forms without cutting or using adhesive. The folding process can be complex, but the end result feels effortless and possesses such beauty. We wanted to translate this concept into clay, a material that, when rolled into sheets, struggles under its own weight. After much trial and error, we were able to develop forms that embody the same graceful simplicity found in the art of origami. Available in both a left and right orientation.
